Audrey Bañada is a North Miami Beach, FL native who started playing tennis at five years old under her father’s supervision. She received a full-scholarship to play tennis at the University of Miami and finished her senior year with both records of most wins in singles and doubles. While she was at college, she had the privilege of working with the current Head Football Strength Coach at UM and the current Ohio State Basketball Strength Coach.
In December 2008 she had her first son, AJ. It was a healthy and wonderful birthing experience mainly as a result of her active lifestyle. She worked and played tennis until her scheduled due date. Her recovery was fast and she lost all the weight from the pregnancy and more very quickly.
Since that wonderful experience, she found her new niche with mothers. She knows both the whole pregnancy process and the tennis and golf population very well. She is currently working with first time moms and experienced moms who have maintained a healthy weight for pregnancies and have had speedy recoveries. Her tennis players and golfers have improved their games, flexibility, range of motion and eased any prior joint pains. So far, all of her moms have stayed at a healthy weight 25-35 total pounds gained during pregnancy. She is currently working with a future Miami Hurricane full-scholarship student-athlete for Women’s Tennis (entering UM Fall 2010).
Her training style tends to be very kick butt, time-efficient, and full-body, while taking all injuries, restrictions, and form as first priorities. She strongly believes in building a base before performance. She had two ankle surgeries herself and has a lot of rehab techniques performed on her, which gave her a lengthy experience in lower body joint rehab. As a trainer, she graduated in 2007 and worked for three years at one of the top gyms in the country, Equinox Fitness Clubs. She is currently the Head Girl’s Coach for Dr. Michael Krop Senior High (3-time High School State Champions) and in the Fall of 2010 will be the volunteer trainer at University of Miami (FL) working solely with Women’s Tennis (NCAA Top 10 Team). Now she is putting all that amazing experience on the table and she is stepping forward in her career to the next level. |
